In READY FOR SUMMER: CHECK!, have students get pumped for the summer by writing about how they want to spend their time off. Have them start by considering the physical and mental health benefits of organizing their time off. Then, have them list a few fun things they’d like to put on their checklist, such as getting a job, spending tons of time outdoors, or learning something new (they can use the article for inspo!). Students should conclude by describing what steps they might need to take: Can they take any steps now? Which item(s) on their checklist are they most looking forward to completing?
