In LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR, have your class imagine that their state’s lawmakers are considering laws to give parents more control over kids’ social media. In this activity, students will write a letter to their state’s governor expressing their views on the proposed laws. They should feel free to express either support for the laws or open disagreement, but remind them to maintain a respectful tone while they write. They should also try to use their own unique ideas as much as possible. Have them use the prompts in the skills sheet to help organize their letter.
